Appointment Scheduler- 32 hours per week

Job Description
This position works with patients over the telephone and in person to schedule appointments,collect appropriate demographic information, insurance, and financial information. This position also checks in patients at the front desk. This position follows scheduling processes by using accurate visit codes to fill open slots. This position also includes taking messages and transfering calls as appropriate. Miscellaneous faxing, canceling patient appointments and initiating referrals before forwarding to the Managed Care Specialist or Physician.
Responsibilities
Receives patient phone calls, schedules appointments, and takes messages for providers or transfers calls as appropriate. Processes appropriate demographic, insurance, and financial information. Schedules appointments in provider schedules by choosing the appropriate visit code. Reschedules appointments as needed. Schedules follow up appointments for patients in person and uses appropriate scheduling guidelines. Faxing, mailing, making follow up appointments. Coordinating referrals to outside providers and occasional scheduling of outside appointments. Take accurate, legible messages including date and signature. Forward all messages to the Team Lead or provider in a timely manner. Forward all symptom based calls to the Team Lead or Triage Nurse. Initiate patient referrals by obtaining the appropriate patient information before forwarding to the Managed Care Specialist. Sort and distribute daily mail as needed. Faxing documents needed Act as a resource and a liaison to the patients as it pertains to scheduling. Work closely with your coworkers to assist with miscellaneous clerical duties. Initiate communication with other teams/departments to resolve issues. Maintain confidentiality of all employee, patient, and other privileged information regarding UFPHC business activities and according to HIPAA standards
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED Medical Office or Medical scheduling classes preferred. Previous medical scheduling experience required. Completion of accredited Medical Assisting program, Nursing Assistant or other medical experience preferred. Previous clinical experience preferred. 2 years previous experience within a healthcare environment required. HUC experience preferred Experience with insurance and third party payer information strongly desired Previous computer experience required
Position Details

Coding Specialist

Job Description
This position provides timely and accurate CPT, ICD-9, E/M and HCPCS coding for patient services as provided by our medical staff. Monitors all aspects of coding to assure complete and accurate claim submission, This includes, but is not limited to, providing answers to patients, providers, clinical staff, and business office staff to ensure charges reflect services performed as documented by medical staff.
Responsibilities
Assigning appropriate diagnosis, procedure, E/M, supply codes per provider documentation using ICD-9-CM, HCPCS, and CPT codes. Ensure all billable charges are accurate and reflect services performed. Assess patients health records and obtain complete patient information when needed. Query providers when information needed to accurately code is not documented. Process changes and corrections. Follow through to educate providers for maximum provider education and knowledge. Update coding procedures and guidelines when necessary. Give routine charge information to patients and providers in accordance with established procedures. Maintain confidentiality of all employee, patient, and other privileged information regarding UFM business activities. Strictly adhere to HIPAA rules and regulations. Maintain the highest standard of ethics and integrity in the performance of job duties and responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Graduate or GED CS-P, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA credential required. Graduate of accredited coding certificate program, Associates degree in HIM, or Bachelors in HIM required.
Position Details
This is full time day position that offers a work from home approach working in the office only 2 days per week and from home the rest of the week. This would start after appropriate training is completed and satisfactory attendance and workload targets are on track.

RMA/CMA/LPN

Job Description
United Family Medicine has a unique opportunity for an LPN, CMA or a RMA. This position will be trained to schedule, register and provide advocacy to compliment their clinical skills. Rooming patients for variety of providers. 3-5 years Experience working in a clinic required. Provide high quality and efficient direct patient care services including rooming patients, completing vitals, administrative duties, stocking and cleaning and customer service. Various positions available. All positions required to work 1 evening a week until 8:00pm and an occasional Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm.
Responsibilities
Rooming patients including taking vital signs, history, and preparing patient and equipment to be seen by the provider. Performs routine procedures including EKGs, audiograms, vision and hearing screenings, ear irrigations, TB skin tests, inspirometry and assisting with minor surgery and other procedures. Administers medications and vaccinations per provider order.
Qualifications
Licnesed Practical Nurse Preferred or a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with 5 plus years experience in ambulatory care. LPN licensure required Previous clinical experience at UFPHC strongly desired. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
